Trade shows are always busy and exciting, and of course time is of the essence. There are always a million things to do and see, and sometimes it seems impossible to accomplish all of your tasks. However, there are many techniques you may not have thought of that will help you save time, both immediately and at the next convention.
Work Smarter, Not Harder
Instead of rushing around madly on the day of the convention trying to get everything done, start your prep work well in advance. When the marketing team is promoting your presence at the show, make sure that they're selective about where they direct their efforts. A simple email blast to your entire contact list might seem like a timesaver, but in reality it's a wasted effort. Instead, have your team invest their efforts wisely by contacting only those clients who are most likely to attend the show: those who are located near where the convention will be held, for example, or those whose business models Beach Mattresses Manufacturers most closely fit the theme of the show. If you're constantly sending promotional emails to every one of your contacts, your clients will soon start to view your messages as spam and will just delete them on sight. If you're careful only to send messages that are actually relevant to them, your efforts will be rewarded!
Also, be as specific as possible in your promotional materials so that your audience knows exactly what you'll be demonstrating and/or offering at the convention. This way, visitors will already know what they want and your staffers won't have to waste time explaining your entire company story to each and every visitor. A little effort invested beforehand can prove to be immensely valuable on the day of the show.
Of course, one of the biggest time sucks is setting up your display before the show and breaking it down afterward. If you usually use portable displays that can be assembled in less than half an hour, this might not be such a big deal. But if you're with a larger company and are using elaborate island displays, that could mean an extra day spent before and after the convention just for assembling and taking down your exhibit.
One of the newest innovations on the market is inflatable booths. Believe it or not, these look just as professional as traditional exhibits and can be set up in minutes. You can replace any part of your existing display with an inflatable component, or redesign your entire exhibit with inflatable booths. Just unpack your display and push a button! You can even use the packing crates as tables once the exhibit is set up, saving even more time that would otherwise have been spent waiting for your crates to be delivered once it's time to pack up.
With a million and one things to do during an industry convention, some smart preparation beforehand and inflatable booths that can be set up and taken back down in minutes can free up a surprising amount of time for other tasks. By working smarter rather than harder, you'll find that trade shows will be less stressful and more efficient!
